IQAir's guarantee is simple: we guarantee that every unit captures and retains at least 99.5% - 99.997% of all particles equal to or larger than .3 microns and at least 95% - 99% of all particles smaller than .3 microns (actual guaranteed rating will vary within these ranges between models - see specific models for more details) Our efficiency guarantee even applies to particles the size of viruses, usually some 30 times smaller than .3 microns, the traditional HEPA reference point. We record the serial number of each unit and the inspector signs the document. The Air Delivery Rate is tested with a calibrated Balometer for each of the 6 speeds. The test is conducted with all filters installed and configured exactly like you will receive the unit. Next, particles measured for size and concentration (.3 microns and larger and this unit had 2,388,400 particles) are pumped into the unit. Then we take particle counts at six different points at the air outlet of the unit. Measurements are recorded for each outlet point and then averaged to arrive at the outlet particle concentration count. Then the actual filtration efficiency is recorded. This unit measured at 99.99% actual efficiency. NO OTHER MANUFACTURE PROVIDES THIS INFORMATION. NO OTHER MANUFACTURE DOES THIS TYPE OF INDIVIDUAL TESTING.
